Similarly, in Gujarat, an education consultancy owner, a school teacher, and a political leader were caught charging students ₹1 million for assistance in the exam. According to an investigation by the Indian Express, there have been 41 paper leaks affecting 14 million job seekers in the past five years. The allocation of grace marks is particularly concerning. Fifty out of the 67 toppers received grace marks due to discrepancies in the answer keys and time-related issues. For instance, a physics question had two correct answers due to different editions of the NCERT textbook. Additionally, the method of allocating grace marks based on a 2018 Supreme Court judgment intended for non-medical and non-engineering exams further raises suspicions. This led to anomalies in scores, such as students achieving technically impossible scores like 718 and 719 out of 720. |

Further compounding the issue, discrepancies between the students’ Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets and their final scores have been reported. Many students found significant differences between their expected scores based on OMR sheets and their final results.
